International Transportation
By Air
Transporting animals by air involves navigating a complex and challenging process due to several factors, including stringent airline requirements, bureaucratic procedures, and varying regulations across different countries.
Unlike personal travel, which is generally straightforward, transporting pets by air demands adherence to a detailed network of regulations and procedures. Ensuring the safety and well-being of animals during their journey is paramount, and international standards are implemented to guarantee their welfare throughout the transport process.
Air freight costs for pets are based on the dimensions and specifications of the carrier box, rather than the size or weight of the animal itself. These costs are influenced by numerous variables and fees, so standard pricing is not available. Each case is evaluated individually to provide a quote tailored to your pet's specific needs.
We recommend opting for a comprehensive door-to-door service, where Global Pets will handle the entire process: collecting your pet from your residence, managing all veterinary requirements, and delivering it to its final destination. However, we also offer partial services that cover only the air travel portion if needed.
Be aware that certain restrictions can affect your pet's transport, including specific breed restrictions (e.g., brachycephalic or high-risk breeds), temperature conditions at the origin or destination, and any applicable embargoes.
Having a specialist from the Global Pets team is essential to navigate these complexities and ensure the best options for your pet’s well-being.
The Transport is Carried Out in Several Phases
Requirements
We will provide all the information regarding the documentation and requirements needed for your pet to travel to its destination.
Air Freight
We will arrange the air freight for your pet (typically, booking the freight is only possible 20 to 10 days before the flight).

The Global Pets team will ensure that all necessary documentation is in place for your pet to reach its final destination.
Documentation
Every country has its own regulations regarding pet transportation, making it crucial to utilize Global Pets' documentation advisory service. This ensures that your pet will not be sent back to the origin upon arrival at the destination.
Different countries require varying documentation based on numerous factors. While there are some standard documents needed for international travel, it is essential to stay in close contact with the Global Pets team. They will ensure that your pet has all the necessary paperwork for a smooth and compliant journey.

By Road
Within Europe, pet transportation by road is a viable option.
Although air transport is typically faster and more economical for long distances, road transport provides a practical alternative for shorter journeys or when air travel is not feasible.
Road transport offers greater flexibility in scheduling and routing. It is especially useful for pets that may face airline restrictions or health concerns that prevent them from flying.
All vehicles used for pet transportation are licensed and specifically customized for animal travel. They are equipped with air conditioning and/or electric airflow systems to ensure optimal comfort.
To provide a suitable and safe compartment for your pet, we will request their dimensions and weight. Transport can be shared with other animals or arranged privately, depending on your preference.
The journey includes multiple stops for feeding, exercise, and cleaning the travel area, as well as regular breaks for the driver. Overnight stops are made at secure locations to ensure pets receive adequate rest, minimizing stress and discomfort throughout the trip.
Tranquilizers and Sedatives
The use of tranquilizers and sedatives is strictly prohibited, as they can be fatal to your pet’s health during transport.
In no transport arranged by Global Pets will your pet be subjected to any medication that could harm its health and well-being.
Pet Travel Crates Requires
It is also important to ensure that your pet travels as comfortably and safely as possible, and to make sure that the pet kennel is accepted at check-in and complies with IATA LAR regulations.
Therefore, it is crucial to contact our team before purchasing any pet kennel.
